STAA EVENTS

Up-Dates - We are sad to share that Pat Bennet & Fritz Mueller died in 2019, Julie-AM’s Maps Project

We are sad to share that our long-time artist member & advocate, Pat Bennet died this year. A bench in Pat's memory and in celebration of her spirit and great generosity will be created for a special spot in the Community Garden on Behie Rd. in Sheet Harbour.

Fritz Mueller died this year in Switzerland. Our condolences go out to Pat & Fritz's family & friends.

Julie Adamson-Miller, artist and STAA member living in Spry Bay has completed a wonderful project on the history of our Eastern Shore. Posted onto ginormous maps, she has detailed the history of the coast (people & their work & play lives, plants, animals, fish, and more). The 2nd part explored current fishers, businesses, artists, crafters, musicians, and many other aspects of who and what lives along the Eastern Shore.

Julie hosted meetings where the public were invited and further information was gathered. The next will be March 28th, 2019 6-8 PM with Julie giving an Art Talk @ 7 PM. Bluewater Building in Sheet Harbour

Here are 2 panoramic pics of a few of the many people enjoying the maps at the Clam Factory, Memory Lane.

Community Art Project for New Public Garden

Mark Krause bought & generously donated land on Behie Road (Sheet Harbour) for a Community/Public Garden.

Julie Adamson-Miller & Miro Davis will be doing Part 2 of a Community-based Art Workshop. Wed Nov 14 @ 2 PM in the Board Room @ Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital in Sheet Harbour.

We will be working on an approach to what art will grace the community garden. So, put on your thinking caps & come on out! The last phase will take place in the Spring, when buds are appearing & we will involve the broader community to create sustainable, beautiful art to accompany the growth of the fruits & veggies in the garden!!
