Robert has been an amateur photographer for over thirty years. He enjoys nature and wildlife photography. He has taken many sunrise, sunset, landscape and seascape photos of the Eastern Shore. Robert enjoys the outdoors, and photographs all year round, even in the subzero temperatures of winter. Wildlife photography is one of his specialties, and in recent years, he has been able to photograph loons from his canoe. Robert also takes pictures for weddings, family portraits, and community events. Robert is now a retired teacher so he devotes a lot of time to his photography.

Robert belongs to the Truro Image Makers Photography Club and has won numerous awards in their photo contests over the past ten years. In 1998, Carsand Moshers displayed one of Roberts wildlife photographs in their Truro and Halifax stores. In 1999 he had his photography published by the magazine Ocean Resources, Vol. 17, No 8. Robert is also a member of the NS Photo Guild. In 2010, he won first place in their Scubenacadie Wildlife Park contest.

Robert has taken numerous photography workshops over the past several years with Maurice Henry, Eric Boutillier Brown, Sue Siri, Johanna Yorke, Len Wagg, Colin Campbell, Dale Wilson, Fred Green, and Steven Scott Paterson. He also teaches photo workshops for Parks and Recreation.

His work may be found at Sue’s Craft Shop, Sheet Harbour, NS, The Old School Gallery, Musquodoboit Harbour, NS and Oceanside Gallery in Pictou, NS. Robert also attends the Seacoast Trail Arts Exhibition and Sale in Sheet Harbour, NS, Hope for Wildlife Open House, Seaforth, NS, and the Musquodoboit Harbour, Christmas Craft Fair.
